The Arkona offers an excellent central Seattle location with convenient transit access and abundant nearby amenities, attracting residents who value walkability and neighborhood character. Management is consistently praised for responsiveness and communication, and the building's historic architecture with modern updates appeals to those seeking vintage charm. However, prospective residents should be aware of lease terms regarding wall damage charges, limited counter space in kitchens, and the building's age-related considerations such as manual elevator operation and potential noise from the surrounding area.

Management receives consistently positive feedback for responsiveness and helpfulness, with staff readily addressing resident concerns and maintenance requests. The property management team is noted for being accessible and communicative, supported by digital tools like the AppFolio platform for maintenance requests and billing. Residents appreciate the approachable management style and the building's ongoing maintenance and upgrade efforts.

The Arkona is a well-maintained historic building from 1908 with thick walls and solid construction that appeals to those seeking character and affordability. Building upkeep is generally strong with regular hallway repainting and carpet updates, though the age of the structure presents challenges including older appliances, single-pane windows with condensation issues, and an antiquated elevator. Residents should be aware of strict lease terms regarding wall damage and the need for cell service to operate basement laundry equipment.

The Arkona's location is consistently praised as highly convenient, with excellent transit access via multiple nearby bus lines, walkability to restaurants and attractions like Pike Place Market and Seattle Center, and proximity to a 24-hour gas station. Street parking is limited but a nearby Seattle Center lot offers monthly parking options. The building's central urban position makes it ideal for those without cars, though residents should be aware of nearby bar and gas station activity that can create noise during evening and late-night hours.

Residents report that advertised amenities, particularly the pool, have remained closed for extended periods despite tenant requests. Shared spaces including laundry facilities and common areas lack consistent maintenance and upkeep. Parking is available but charged at premium rates, and utility fees are assessed separately from rent. Overall amenity conditions and maintenance responsiveness have been sources of resident concern.

Maintenance concerns include electrical issues, water and air leaks around windows, and delayed repairs on stairwell windows. Residents report that management has a slow record for completing requested work orders.
